When Two Homes, and their photos -Get a Second Chance
Recently, I came across photos from two homes I staged for a local flipper back in 2013. Both were older homes that had been thoughtfully renovated before I was brought in to style them for the market.

Thirteen years later, I gave the photographs a refresh using today's editing technology. It was fascinating to see them with fresh eyes.
One home embraced soft blues and airy neutrals. The other leaned into warm greens and earthy tones. Different color stories, different personalities—but the same goal: helping buyers instantly feel at home.

What struck me most wasn't the paint colors or the furniture. It was how timeless the spaces still felt. Good staging has never been about chasing trends. It's about understanding a home's architecture, creating balance, and inviting people to imagine a life there.

Style for the home—not for the trend.
Every home has its own personality. The best interiors highlight that character instead of covering it up.
Color should support the story.
NOTES:
-Whether the palette is cool and calming or warm and earthy, it should feel intentional and create an emotional connection. For Home Staging, keep the paint palette neutral, but embrace color with a coordinated collection.
-Keep it welcoming. No buyer pictures a room that isn’t usable, curate a space that invites a buyer to envision themselves functioning and enjoying the space.
-Buyers remember how a home makes them feel far longer than they remember the accessories on a shelf. The best styling is just part of the story.
Looking back at these projects reminded me why I still love what I do after 27 years. Design trends come and go. Homes evolve. Photography improves. But creating spaces that feel warm, welcoming, and authentic never goes out of style. Sometimes a home gets a second chance. Sometimes the photographs do too.
